On Time-Frequency Synchronization in LoRa System: From Analysis to Near-Optimal Algorithm

چکیده
This article deals with time and frequency synchronization in the Long Range (LoRa) system based on preamble symbols. A thorough analysis of maximum-likelihood (ML) estimator delay (time offset) offset shows that resulting cost function is not concave. As a consequence a priori solution to maximization problem consists exhaustively searching over all possible values both offset. Furthermore, it shown these parameters are intertwined therefore they must be jointly estimated, leading an extremely complex solution. Alternatively, we show recover concavity function, from which suggest low-complexity algorithm, whose steps described detail. Simulations results suggested method reaches same performance as ML exhaustive search, while complexity drastically reduced, allowing for real-time implementation LoRa receiver.

متن کاملAnalysis of the Time-Optimal System Design Algorithm Structure
The formulation of the process of analog system design has been done on the basis of the control theory application as the problem of a special functional minimization. This approach generalizes the design process and produces the different design trajectories inside the same optimization procedure. Numerical examples show that the potential computer time gain of the optimal design strategy wit...
متن کاملNear-Optimal Energy Consumption for Radio Synchronization
In this paper we consider a new model of communication where wireless devices can either switch their radios off to save energy (and hence, can neither send nor receive messages), or switch their radios on and engage in communication. Our goal is to minimize use of the radio for both transmitting and receiving. Our base model ignores issues of communication interference, though we also extend i...
متن کاملNear-Optimal Pricing in Near-Linear Time
We present efficient approximation algorithms for a number of problems that call for computing the prices that maximize the revenue of the seller on a set of items. Algorithms for such problems enable the design of auctions and related pricing mechanisms [3]. In light of the fact that the problems we address are APX-hard in general [5], we design near-linear and near-cubic time approximation sc...
متن کاملOptimal phase kernels for time-frequency analysis
We consider the design of kernels for time-frequency distributions through the phase, rather than amplitude, response. While phase kernels do not attenuate troublesome crosscomponents, they can translate them in the time-frequency plane. In contrast to previous work on phase kernels that concentrated on placing the cross-components on top of the auto-components, we set up a “don’t care” region ...
